Groundbreaking artificial intelligence technology enables voice-based access to thousands of books, advancing a more accessible, smart, and independent user experience
Almanarah is pleased to announce the launch of a beta version of a smart voice assistant within the *ArabCast Books* app — another innovative step as part of its efforts to promote digital accessibility and integrate advanced technologies for the benefit of the general public, and in particular for people with visual and reading impairments.
The new voice assistant, powered by advanced artificial intelligence technologies, enables users to interact naturally through speech and to access, directly and conveniently, a rich library of thousands of audiobooks in Arabic.
Using simple voice commands, users can locate books, begin playback, and take full control of the listening experience — including moving between chapters, skipping forward, going back, and performing other actions — all without the need to touch the screen or navigate the app manually.
Adv. Abbass Abbass, founder and CEO of Almanarah, said:
“This is a defining and meaningful moment in Almanarah’s journey. We are proud to present an advanced, simple, and accessible technological solution that allows users to reach a broad world of knowledge, culture, and content in Arabic — using their voice alone. In our view, true technology is technology that removes barriers, opens doors, and grants people independence, convenience, and an optimal user experience.”
Abbass added:
“This trial version is only the beginning of a process. In the coming period, we will continue to listen to users, learn from their feedback, and continually improve the capabilities of the voice assistant and its accompanying services — out of a commitment to delivering an advanced user experience tailored to the real needs of our user community.”
Almanarah emphasizes that this is much more than another technological development — it is a conceptual shift in the way knowledge and culture can be consumed, in a simpler, more accessible, and more intuitive manner. The development is intended to serve all users of the app, with particular emphasis on empowering people with disabilities.
Almanarah extends its thanks and appreciation to its partners at Discount Bank for their significant support in advancing the project.
The launch of the smart voice assistant is a direct continuation of the organization’s extensive work in the field of technology accessibility, and reinforces its vision of enabling every person to listen to, discover, and enjoy a broad world of accessible content in Arabic.
